Grammys Flower Garden

I bought the pattern for this quilt while my family was skiing up at Mount Shasta. I hate snow so I stay home and quilt and have a good hot meal for them when they get home. There was a quilt shop 2 blocks from where we stay and I found this pattern. I thought it was beautiful. By the time I had made 3 blocks I realized I was nuts. There are too many little pieces to this quilt block and it is a small block. I persevered, I had a lot of blocks made but it still wasn't enough for a quilt top. I put it away… for 11 years. I took it out again and I decided that if I turned it on point and put in those white squares between the blocks I only needed to make two more blocks. I couldn't find the original pattern anymore but I remembered it had a pretty border so I made one up for mine. I made it for my mom using 30's replica fabric because she was born in the 30's. By the time I finished it I was a grandmother too.
